Behind The Scenes Of Spring/ Summer 2018

As lavender skies stir beneath silver clouds, awaken to soft peach sunlight dancing across the shore where cool water fuses with a hazy pink horizon. Night gives way to day and promises of new beginnings are revealed.

Each of the SCD collections are inspired by seasonal tones and shades from Nature’s greatest creations. Here, Sophie discusses the newest pieces for Spring Summer 2018 and the story behind them.

Pastel shades prevail, with silver, soft peach, lavender and pale pink the delicate hues for this season’s SCD summer silk collection. These muted tones are perfectly complimented with an array of the dreamiest bespoke digital prints.

My newest print for summer features pastel coloured beach flowers nestled against a luxurious pale pink silk satin. I design each print with a carefully considered colour palette. Every tone and shade is specifically chosen to compliment and coordinate with each other, to form a capsule collection. This allows for an array of versatile outfits that are created through mixing and matching different styles, prints and tones.

This season, I have created an exciting selection of new styles featuring a host of summer essentials. The Tailored Silk Short and Wide-Legged Trouser make their debut, offering the most elegant of silhouettes when paired with our signature silk shirts. Presented in SCD’s luxurious floral prints, these are perfect for an effortless transition from beach to bar.

The Pink Beach Flower Silk Maxi dress is a statement piece for effortless elegance. This beautiful silk dress is the perfect choice for any summer occasion – from seasonal wedding to garden party.

As always, intricate Italian lace embellishes the silk pieces, creating feminine and elegant garments for day or night. When creating each style, I focus on versatility, ensuring that I envisage a host of occasions and events that these timeless pieces can be chosen for.
